A New Milestone

03 Nov 2009 marked the beginning of a new journey for Yuqin...the journey of learning! I have enrolled Qin into The Little Skool House At-Fidelio. It is a little white bungalow converted childcare centre at a quaint corner of Opera Estate (Siglap).

1st day of school went smoothly for Qin... in fact, she enjoys going to school... from what I observed for the past 3 days. I can tell that she's really happy in school. I always hear the teacher saying that she has 2 helpings of food during lunch! OMG...I hope Qin don't turn into little Ms Piggy by the time she's in N2.....

Breakfast time

All kids will have their breakfast at 8.30 in the morning, follow by Chinese class at 9.00 and then English Class. After the classes is outdoor playing and lunch will be served at 11.15am everyday. For Qin who is on 1/2 day session, she can leave by 12 noon.

BAKING TIME

Finally I have gotten my oven fixed and I'm able to try out different recipes during the weekends. I have tried a few savoury dishes, like baked chicken and baked lasagne and tried baking a butter cake last weekend. Sad to say the cake failed...didn't taste as good as I expected.

This weekend, I decided to try out this strawberry muffins recipe that I chanced upon in one of the food blogs. I have modified the muffins though... I used chocolate morsels and raisins instead of strawberries. I'm not sure why but the muffins turned out too sweet and hard...it's not as fluffy as what I have expected. I suspected I could have over-baked the muffins.

I'm not giving up though.... I will continue trying out new cake recipes until I am able to produce a butter cake/muffin that I myself is satisfied with... Until then, my husband and daughter shall continue to be my guinea pigs.... :-O

This set of pj was bought during our last trip to Melaka, it really look cute on Qin.
